DARKNESS AND LIGHT

Ying and Yang

Yin and Yang

陰陽

In Chinese mythology, Yin and Yang were born from chaos when the universe was first created and they are believed to exist in harmony at the centre of the Earth. During the creation, their achievement of balance in the cosmic egg allowed for the birth of Pangu (or P'an ku), the first human. In addition, the first gods Fuxi, Nuwa and Shennong were born from Yin and Yang. In Chinese religion, the Taoists favour Yin whilst Confucianists favour Yang in keeping with the prime focus of their respective philosophies. The Taoists emphasize reclusion whilst Confucianists believe in the importance of engagement in life

Darkness

Amatsu-Mikaboshi is the god of darkness in Japanese Mythology. Amatsu-Mikaboshi is a force of absolute domination that feeds off of human emotions that, if left unchecked, result in social, emotional, or physical destruction. For instance, a desire for success can lead to greed and lust for power, which is the result of the influence of Mikaboshi's residue. Love for another can lead to obsession or jealousy, also result of its dark influences. In later centuries, certain creatures that are by nature dark or demonic were said to be connected to Mikaboshi in a sort of slave relationship to its power.

Light

Amaterasu Ōmikami is the god of light in the Japanese Mythology.

Amaterasu’s primary role is that of the sun goddess. In this position, she not only serves as the literal rising sun that illuminates all things, but also provides nourishment to all living creatures and marks the orderly movement of day into night.

The sun represents order and purity, two of Shinto’s most important concepts. All things in creation are ordered, from Amaterasu down to the denizens of Jigoku and other hells. This order is reflected in Japanese society as well.

Purple Glow

The Blind Samurai's universe came into existence from the Big Bang created by the gods clashing swords with demons in the Great War of Utopia. Once the war subsided, heavenly entities scoured the endless cosmos, created by their war, establishing planets under the domain of God. At every new planet, the heavenly entities would send down different gods to ignite life on said planets. One of the last planets the gods step foot on was Chura, the future home of the blind samurai. Izanagi and Izanami were sent down to create land within Chura. From making the land, 5 elemental powers of fire, water, earth, wood, and metal were born. Each element created its own kingdom and people who lived under each elements ideals. Izanagi and Izanami watched Chura grow and prosper under the control of the elements. As there final gift to the land they created Yin and Yang the protecters of Chura, they created Yin and Yang to defend and fight off the demons if they ever came to take control of this pure planet.
